Maryln Schwartz Creative Writing Contest. The Friends of the Mobile Public Library sponsor an annual Writing Contest open to all Mobile County high school and middle school students residing in Mobile County (public, private and home schooled) grades 6-12.

The Scripps Ranch Friends of the Library (SRFOL) is an auxiliary organization created to support the Scripps Miramar Ranch branch of the San Diego Public Library. To this end the SRFOL generates income through donations, fundraising efforts, and the selling of used books. More than 85% of the income generated by the SRFOL each year is spent.
